This is a multi channel video project commissioned by Henie Onstad Art Center for the exhibition Art Through the Eye of the Needle, in 2001. Pia MYrvoLD had already experimented with early digital mapping video installations (PostMachine, 1998) and in this work the two main channel has dancers moving in and out of screen. The soundtrack, with MYrvoLDʼs lyrics and in collaboration with German producer Friedel, works in 2 tempo sequences, and follows the rhythm of the multi layered images, created from ballet dancers Teet Kast and his team from the Estonian National Ballet. Interference is about moving against main stream information, making opposing choices, and trusting the creative and philosophical input in visionary thinkers, rather then execution of opposing thought. The edition video shows the 2 screens as one, with the visual loop that is 3:30 seconds and the sound loop that is 7:00.
