LETTRE MORTE is an exhibition of the French artist Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil presented at incognito gallery from 2003, september 18th to november 8th. The installation is 2 sentences “Point de Vue” and “Images du Monde” in steel, face to face in a corridor. The sentences are reversed. The idea is that each sentence can be normally read from outside of gallery with thermal glasses. These military glasses can see through the walls but can’t see through metal. This symbolic piece is part of the concerns of the artist about security, private and public life. In this installation, the visitor is disturbed by the inversion of the two sentences which is a meaning of the hidden information. Does the actual reading of things come from what we do not see?
