Sanjin Cosabic was born in 1977 in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). During the Bosnian war Sanjin found refuge in France where he decided to settle. He enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and completes his studies in five years. Holder of a DNSAP ( national diploma in plastic expression) option Painting in 2000, he devoted himself to this practice exclusively. In 2008 he set up his workshop in an industrial wasteland and starts to present his works in exhibitions in France and Europe, including the International Art Festival in Sarajevo. Read more

ArtJaws_Sanjin CosabicThe work can be interpreted in three ways. Normal lighting offers a vision of the cosmos, while the UV light reveals a constellation, followed by the thermochromic’ activation of names of whistleblowers behind each star of the constellation.

Technical information: the color changes once the paint and the surface under it undergoes a sufficient change in temperature. The paintings’ thresholds are 10°C, 32°C, or 50°C. The change occurs immediately after warming or cooling. The color is more or less opaque, discoloring slightly as the threshold approaches, then suddenly changes from colored/opaque to transparent.
