The French artist Bertrand Planes is now part of the ArtJaws Collectors with a new coproduction entitled “Office Fireplace 0.9”.
“Office Fireplace 0.9” is a miniature fireplace that allows you to enjoy the light of a small chimney fire at any time, whether you are at home, in the office or elsewhere. Made with laser-cut MDF wood and a Fresnel magnifying glass, this playful creation presents itself as a true low-tech artwork in the digital age. Easy to assemble, wink at the DYI or “do-it-yourself”, the artwork is part of the artist’s approach, hacking of everyday objects, which combines here the aesthetic of a support representative of our era, namely the iPad or the iPhone screen, with an immemorial pleasure, that of the glow of a fireplace.
Born in Perpignan in 1975. Lives and works in Paris. Visual artist and coder from the Paris Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) and the Grenoble Superior School of Arts, Bertrand Planes is well known to question about the work of art finality. He develops video devices, sets up some complex technical processes on the course of collaborations with CNRS researchers and creates new tools from existing mechanisms that he stacks and handles to re-arrange them. Besides he co-writes articles issued in scientific magazines. His last exhibitions have been held in Berlin, Saint Petersburg, Copenhagen, Paris, Singapore, Curitiba (Brazil), Moscow.
